The end of the year is not only about bringing up and understanding the results of previous work, but it is definitely a powerful step forward. Thus, according to the results of the second competition of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program (HUSKROUA) 2014-2020 the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas won two projects: NET4SENERGY and EnyMS. We offer you a short description of each project:
1). Cross-border Network of Energy Sustainable Universities (NET4SENERGY) - IFNTUOG is the coordinator of this project, and partners are the following universities: Technical University in Kosice (Slovakia), University of Miskolc (Hungary), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, University Center in Baia Mare (Romania). The budget for four partners is 326 448.04 €, of which 293 803, 23 € is the contribution of the European Union.
Short Description: The Net4SENERGY project is designed to increase the efficiency of the key universities within the HUSKROUA Cross-border region to address the effects of climate change through energy efficiency in order to ensure sustainable development through cooperation, support and exchange of actions contributing to this. The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which entered into force in 2017, demonstrates the deep potential and determines the specificity of such cooperation in the field of energy efficiency of public buildings and the development of renewable energy sources in Ukraine. In addition, all four countries seek to find new opportunities for closer cooperation, including those in the field of higher education, partnership of municipalities, etc.
2). Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste by Thermal Conversion Technologies in the Cross-border Region (EnyMSW). The University is a partner in this project. The coordinators are Cluj-Napoca Technical University, the University Center in Baia Mare (Romania), and the second partner is the Technical University in Kosice (Slovakia). The budget for the three partners is 289,389.64 €, of which 260 450.66 € is the contribution of the European Union.
Short Description: The main objective of this project is to bring together professionals from prestigious universities in order to explore the possibilities of managing solid household waste (Waste) by heat treatment for energy recovery. The scientific and technical potential of universities can be directed at the needs of local, regional and cross-border communities in order to facilitate their development. In the long-term perspective, if heat treatment is used to restore energy, it will lead to the elimination of landfills and increase energy efficiency.
