Training seminars and workshops on creating technology transfer offices were held on October 20-24, 2014 at Lund University (Sweden) and Gdansk University of Technology (Poland) in frames of TEMPUS project (530158-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-SE-TEMPUS-SMHES "Support of innovations through improvement of regulatory framework for higher education in Ukraine").
IFNTUOG was represented by Ivan Glad, associate professor of the Department of Energy Supply and Electric Equipment of Industrial Enterprises.
The aim of these trainings was to inform the staff, give them instructions, for the creation of technology transfer support offices in the universities - Ukrainian partners of the project.
On October 20-24, 2014 Ukrainian partners visited Coventry University (Great Britain) and Polytechnic Institute of Porto (Portugal) (the partners of the SpinOff project) in frames of TEMPUS 530158 “Support of innovations through improvement of regulatory framework for higher education in Ukraine”, which is funded by the European Union.
Ukraine was represented by the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (national coordinator), Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade, Odessa National Law Academy and Technopark “Machine Building Technologies”.
The purpose of the visit was to obtain practical skills and knowledge in the field of intellectual property management at the university, in order to apply the acquired skills in creating referral services for knowledge transfer in Ukrainian universities involved in this project.
University satff of the Coventry University and the Institute of Porto shared their experience in the field of commercialization of intellectual property.The main emphasis is placed on the role of applied research and ways of encouraging students to develop their own business and acquire entrepreneurial skills. It should be mentioned, that the basic rule in patent elaboration is its commercialization. University staff organize diferent competitions for innovative ideas, and the winners of competitions get money reward and legal support along the first steps towards establishing business.
