Study visit to KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden)

During the period from May,18 to May, 22 2015 Head of the Department of Engineering and Computer Graphics of the Institute of Construction Engineering, Architecture and Tourism Professor Lesia Shkitsa and Head of the Department of Tourism of the Institute of Construction Engineering, Architecture and Tourism Liudmyla Arkhypova visited  KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) within the framework of the project TEMPUS (543966-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-BE-TEMPUS-JPCR) ”Higher engineering training for environmentally sustainable industrial development (HETES)”.

Representatives of The National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (NMetAU) and Kryvyi Rih National University also participated in the study visit. 

Ukrainian scientists attended lectures on the peculiarities of educational and scientific process in the European countries by the example of Sweden; academic staff of the Department of Industrial Ecology presented the completed and existing projects on environmental management systems, strategic innovation in the construction of "smart" cities, based on the most advanced technologies of recycling, processing and disposal of wastes, construction and architecture with high energy efficiency performance. 

Power communication platform of the Royal University of Technology, as well as the system of interaction between different educational and scientific institutions for a common goal - sustainable development were also presented in the course of visit. There participants also visited Hammarby Sjostad - newly built district of Stockholm, a pioneer in European territory, where  the principle of sustainable development and advanced environmental technologies were successfully implemented. 

Therefore, European initiatives in Engineering education for sustainable development will be introduced into the study of the IFNTUOG's students.
