On June 24-25th, 2014 students of the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering (majoring in Oil and Gas Extraction; Drilling) defended their Master’s theses in IFNTUOG. The cooperation between the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering of IFNTUOG and the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) has been continuing for three years now. During spring semester of 2013-2014 academic year 20 students of the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering of our university studied by the dual diploma program in Poland.
The defense of Master’s theses lasted two days and was evaluated by a joint Ukrainian-Polish thesis board. Besides Ukrainian professors, the thesis board included Tomasz Sliwa, a professor of the Department of Drilling and Geoengineering at AGH University of Science and Technology.
The students presented their reports in English. All the students got “excellent” mark for their theses and were granted academic degree of Master.
Professor Tomasz Sliwa marked out the high level of preparation at the university, thanked teaching staff for the students' strong background with which they came at the beginning of spring to AGH and expressed his sincere hope for further fruitful cooperation.
