Project "Ukraine-Norway": perspectives for the future

The successful implementation of Ukrainian-Norwegian project involving the University of Nordland (Bodø, Norway), International Fund for Social Adaptation (Kyiv, Ukraine), Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and other eleven universities of Ukraine - partners of the project, continues.

On December 8-10, 2014 the University of Nordland hosted an international scientific conference on scientific and educational cooperation between Ukraine and Norway, where the perspectives for doing business in the two countries were also discussed.

Conference participants, the heads of higher educational institutions, presented scientific and educational achievements of their universities, offering options and areas of cooperation, considered the issue of joint conferences, internships of students and postgraduates, feasibility of dual diplomas programs, scientific cooperation in business, management, innovation, ecology etc.

Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas was represented by Vice-rector scientific and pedagogical work, social and economic development , Doctor of Economics Oleh Dzoba, who presented the achievements of the University in recent years and emphasized the importance of this project for Ivano-Frankivsk region, as the University provides retraining of 53 military personnel, retired members, and their families as well as social adaptation of this layer of population and their integration into the regional economy. This training contributes to the problem of unemployment solving, reduces social tension in the region, helps to start business. The second direction of the Ukrainian-Norwegian project, which involves the implementation of training programs for civil servants based on best international practices is equally important. These programs will be implemented in 2015 and the funds for their implementation, as well as for social adaptation programs, will be allocated by the Government of Norway.

Plenipotentiary participants of the Conference who represented universities of Ukraine and Norway signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which outlined promising areas of cooperation for 2015 and subsequent years:
