On September 5, 2018 the international seminar "Partnership and Cooperation - the Way to Success" gathered together scientific and academic staff of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of the AGH University of Science and Technology (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica – AGH) (Krakow, Poland) and the Institute of Petroleum Engineering of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The event took place at the premises of IFNTUOG. The meeting aimed at deepening bilateral communication between the scientists of the partner educational institutions as well as cooperation in scientific and educational activities. This year, a large delegation from Poland visited the seminar: 23 members of scientific and pedagogical staff who came to present their own scientific achievements in optimizing and improving the process of drilling of oil and gas wells and gaining experience from Ukrainian colleagues.

Polish and Ukrainian scholars were unanimous in appreciating the continued collaboration between universities and its effectiveness. Useful and necessary are the annual internships of Polish students in the Carpathian region. Prof. Jan Ziaja stressed:

"Nine years of cooperation with IPE proved to be very fruitful both in educational and scientific sphere. Today we came to talk about the prospects for further cooperation on the dual diploma program, and also to see the modern IFNTUOG laboratories and focus on joint research in the field of ways and methods of drilling."

A number of presentations were presented at the seminar:

  1. "50 years of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of the AGH University of Science and Technology;
  2. "Scientific and educational potential of the Department of Drilling and Geoengineering" AGH University of Science and Technology;
  3. "Mini-drilling rig for drilling in space";
  4. "Institute of Petroleum Engineering - Present and Prospects";
