IFNTUOG students' visit to Poland

The best way to make a wish come true is hope and persevere. Plus, you need to work toward your wish in order for it to come true. For this purpose, you can even cram the emotions, impressions and events of a two week period into one bare statement that will sound something like this: on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the State School of Higher Education in Chelm (Poland) and Ivano- Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas students of PF- 10-1 of the School of Technical Translation, Interpreting and Records Information Management have had a translation practicum in the abovementioned institution.

As the previous sentence, the practitum was formal: we got acquainted with Polish students and Professors, engaged in American and Slavic Studies, translated various documents. However , this is not all we did there. At the weekend we enjoyed our free time, following our own schedule of actions and events that unfolded not on the university’s landscapes. Warsaw, Lublin, Chelm – the cities so different by ambience and lifestyle, helped us to better understand Poland, feel its features, see the historic crossings, enjoy the foreign feeling of a not so foreign land.

Without a sense of culture shock, not being even slightly affected by periods of adaptation, we returned home. We brought with us a bunch of translations, a sea of impressions and a hope that the visit of Polish students in Ukraine will also be a success.
