History of the Department

 

The department was founded in 1976 as the Organization and Production Management Department. Until 1992, it was not final and served technical specialties by providing economic disciplines teaching. In 1992 a new economic specialty called "Economics and Management in Engineering" was opened at the university and the department was reorganized into the Department of Economic Engineering and Instrumentation. Since then, it has been producing experts in this specialty. Reorganization of economic education in Ukraine led to the specialty name change. The department began to train students in the specialty called "Organization Management ". Accordingly, the department was renamed into Production Management Department. At the time it was headed by PhD and Associate Professor O.O. Lapko. From 2001 to 2010 the leadership of the Production Management Department was carried by PhD, Prof. A.O.Ustenko, and PhD. Assoc. Prof. V.P.Petrenko.

Considering current demands of both real economy sector, where the demand for highly qualified specialists in the field of management was increasing and demands of higher education in July 2010 Production Management Department was reorganized then renamed into Management and Administration Department. From 2010 to 2013 Management and Administration Department was headed by PhD, Prof. V.P. Petrenko. Since September 2013 the department has been led by PhD, Assoc. Prof. A.S. Polianska.

The basis of the Management and Administration Department development is a systematic approach to the provision of educational services and to the target, providing and functional and structural subsystems of activities balancing in preparation of competitive professionals to meet the challenges of modern progress in the context of the Ukraine integration into the European Economic Area.
