The Department scientific activities

     Department of General and Applied Physics performs scientific research in the line of “Solid state physics”, supervised by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor M. O.  Haluschak.
     Scientific achievements of Department are supported by close cooperation with scientists of NAS of Ukraine: Institute of Physics, Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Institute of Metallophysics and known scientists of Precarpathian and Lviv National Universities, Lviv and Kyiv Polytechnic National Universities, Sumy State University.
     M. O. Haluschak, Head of Department, in 2010 and 2013 won a tender among scientific projects, supervised by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Since January 1, 2010, the fundamental state-funded research “research of new methods of solar and thermal energy transformation into electric energy” has been performed. 1 Doctor of Sciences, 6 Candidates of Sciences, 2 postgraduate students and 2 students participated in theoretical and experimental research. The implementation period was 3 years. The scientific research work result was development of a new method of solar and thermal energy transformation into electric energy and a research sample for the developed method implementation.
     In 2014 a tender for two-year state-funded applied topic “Technology of semiconductor structures and thermoelectric transformers of the special purpose energy” was won.
At present the Department staff performs research for development of new techniques to obtain thermoelectric materials and development of renewable energy sources.
