Activity of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas is worthy embodiment of famous traditions of national science and education. For 48 years now the University has been shaping not only the intellectual potential of the nation but also an active citizenship of the students. Celebrating the people and achievements of IFNTUOG is what University Day is all about!
On September 21 celebrations on the occasion of the university day were held with the participation of university administration, faculty, staff, students and graduates of IFNTUOG, government representatives, and special guests. Rector of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas Ye. Kryzhanivskyi announced the celebrations and invited those present at the inauguration of the monument in honor of the famous Ukrainian scientist Ivan Puliui - Great Ukrainian physicist, electrical engineering, inventor, civic activist, translator of the Bible into Ukrainian.
The Head of the Department of Mathematics Professor V. Moisyshyn began inauguration of the memorial. The ceremony was held with the participation of the academic staff and university students, as well as guests of honor: V. Anushkevychus, mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, O. Honcharuk, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, A. Kornat, - Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration, P. Kushnir, Chairman of the Scientific Society of Taras Shevchenko in Ukraine, Director of the Institute of APMM, member of NAS (Lviv), Professor V. Shenderovskyi (Kyiv), I. Tsependa, Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, M. Rozhko, Rector of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, S.Pilka, the author of the idea of the monument, Deputy Chief of regulatory and environmental studies of OJSC "Ukrnafta", M. Obeziuk, monument sculptor, Honored Artist of Ukraine, V. Haidar, the author of the project, Director of Urban Development and Architecture Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk city council and the chief architect of the city and other distinguished guests.
After the consecration of the monument and speeches of the guestsa meeting with the press took place in the lobby of the scientific and technical library of IFNTUOG . The participants of the event had an opportunity to visit an exhibition of Ivan Puliui's publications and scientific publications of Taras Shevchenko Scientific Society members who are IFNTUOG workers. Honoring of an outstanding Ukrainian scientist continued in the conference hall of the library, where the Round Table "Ivan Puliui and Ukraine", chaired by prof. V. Moisyshyn, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the Scientific Society of Taras Shevchenko was held.
The grand opening and consecration of the laboratory of hardware and software «SIEMENS» of the Department of computer technologies in control systems and automation (Head of the Department – L. Zamikhovskyi) was held within the University Day. In the unanimous opinion of the company «SIEMENS Ukraine" and the university administration the lab opening is a milestone in tarining students to combine intellectual and material resources in carrying out research, improve scientific and human capacity of IFNTUOG and for the expansion and development of cooperation between institutions. The opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of administration, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies, members of the department, the authorities and the media, the priest, invited guests from SE «SIEMENS Ukraine" ( Kyiv), Dolyna local operations & maintenance department for main gas pipelines, PJSC "Ivano-Frankivskcement", LLC "Zakhidnyi ETC" (Ivano-Frankivsk), PE "HalKomBud" (Ivano-Frankivsk), LLC "MIAS".
The celebrations continued with an opening of modern scientific and research laboratory of cement slurries of the Department of Oil and gas wells drilling (Head of the department – Professor I. Chudyk). Laboratory focuses on training students, scientific research, implementation of contractual and state budgetary works. A lot of honoured guests were present at the opening: representatives of municipal and regional administration, partners and sponsors, representatives of LLC “Heosyntez Inzhinirinh”, “SCS” group, DTEK, PJSC “Naftohasvydobuvannia” and others.
All guests of the University had an opportunity to visit the Geological museum of IFNTUOG, Center of certification of oil and gas industry workers IWSF, Laboratory of technical diagnostics and monitoring.
At 12.00 in the assembly hall of the University a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the University was held. Rector of the University announced a new program "Scientific and organizational principles of increasing production of domestic oil and gas and diversification of energy supply to increase energy security of Ukraine." Awarding the best university staff and students was held. The meeting ended with the signing of a long-term agreement on cooperation between IFNTUOG and DTEK - the leader of the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine. The close cooperation aims at significant achievements in scientific and educational sphere.
