IFNTUOG students got acquainted with the culture of Cameroon

On Thursday, May 17, a large-scale three-day celebration took place at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas on the Day of Cameroon.

In Ukraine, this celebration is held every year in different region; last year it took place in Odessa, and this year IFNTUOG was honored to host an event at its premises. Cameroonians from all over Ukraine came to Ivano-Frankivsk.

On the first day, students were engaged in sports playing football and volleyball with fellow countrymen.

On the second festive day in the hall of the main building of the IFNTUOG students, together with representatives of foreign Cameroonian associations, organized an exhibition of household items, national clothes, decorations and souvenirs. They also presented national dishes, products for which they had brought from Cameroon. Cameroonians performed national dances for the guests of the event, invited them to try the traditional outfit of the Camerooner - clothes and a scarf.

The organizing students told the audience about different traditions, explained what is depicted on the flag of Cameroon. After dinner, the guests of the city were given a tour around Ivano-Frankivsk.

Students from Cameroon spent the last day of celebrations playing football at the stadium.

Celebration helped Ukrainian students to feel the atmosphere of Cameroon and learn better about each other, make friends with international students.

Deputy Head of the Center for International Education, Iryna Lytvyn helped Cameroonians with the organization of the event, although, according to her, almost the entire program was organized by the students themselves.
