On November 6-9, 2014 the presidence of Rectors’ Conference of technical universities of Polish Republic and Association of Rectors of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine held Ukrainian-Polish Forum of Rectors’ Association of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine and Rectors’ Conference of technical universities of Polish Republic «Technical education — for the future of Europe».
The meeting was attended by 25 Rectors from Ukrainian Technical Universities and 25 Rectors from Polish ones. Mayor of Lviv Andrii Sadovyi was also present at the meeting together with the Head of the Association of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine, Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” NAS of Ukraine academician Mykhailo Zgurovskyi, Head of Conference of Technical Universities Rectors of Polish Republic, Rector of the Vrotslav Polytechnics Professor Tadeush Ventskovski, Deputy Minister of of the education and science of Ukraine Maksym Strikha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Genrik Litvin and others.
After the first plenary meeting of the Forum the participants – rectors of Ukrainian and Polish technical universities worked in the thematic sections: “The relation between technical universities and industry in defining the requirements to the European engineer model”; ”Quality assurance of higher technical education. European accreditation specializations of technical universities. Polish experience "; " International dimension of research. Priority areas of joint projects of scientists of Ukraine and Poland to participate in competitions in the fields of EU programs, in particular, - Horizon 2020 and ERASMUS + »,« Innovative direction of scientific and technological cooperation of scientists technical universities of Poland and Ukraine "and" Cooperation student organizations and European mobility ".
Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of oil and gas was represented by Rector, Professor Yevstakhii Kryzhanivskyi and Vice rector for scientific and pedagogical work, Professor Oleh Mandryk.
At one of the sessions Yevstakhii Kryzhanivskyi spoke on Eexperience of cooperation of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas with universities of Poland".
Rector said that IFNTUOG had signed and is now successfully implementing cooperation agreements with leading Polish universities - Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy named after S. Staszica, University of Technology in Opole, Lublin University of Technology, Gdansk Polytechnic University, Higher School of Law and Administration in Przemysl, International Faculty of Law and Administration of Przemysl.
The next Ukrainian-Polish Forum on Higher Technical Education Problems will be held in a year at the premises of IFNTUOG.
