On June 9, 2015 Mr. Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine visited Technical University of Oil and Gas. Representatives of the university administration, academic staff, and students were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the First vice rector of the University, Professor Fedir Kozak thanked the Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Jon Fredriksen for the visit and expressed interest in cooperation with Norwegian universities. In particular, Mr. Kozak said that the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas is currently negotiating with the Norwegian University of Stavanger. It is expected that both universities will sign a framework agreement on cooperation that will involve cooperation in education and science, particularly in the field of student exchange, joint research and participation in international projects under the program HORIZON-2020.
Projects successfully completed by the University in cooperation with Norwegian partners - namely the projects "Energy and Energy Efficiency" and "Ukraine-Norway. Retraining of retired personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security forces" were presented during the meeting.
Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Jon Elvedal Fredriksen said that he was well acquainted with the projects implemented by IFNTUOG and noted that the results of the projects deserved high praise. In conclusion, Mr. Ambassador said that the National Technical University of Oil and Gas has a powerful potential and Norwegian party is interested in deepening cooperation between universities of both countries.
