Ukraine-Norway: Norwegian partners visit IFNTUOG

On April 19, 2016 the fourth group of students studying in the framework of Ukrainian-Norwegian project involving the University of Nordland (Bodø, Norway), International Fund for Social Adaptation (Kyiv, Ukraine), and our university which aims at retraining of 30 military personnel, retired members, and their families as well as social adaptation of this layer of population and their integration into the regional economy had an opportunity to attend the lecture held by the Norwegian professor Øystein Nystad. Among the members of the delegation there also were: curator of the project from the University of NORD (Norway) Turshtein Vic Orchus, Director for development of IFSA projects Yana Kozachenko, and head of the NGO "Western initiative group" Maksym Lapan.

During the meeting with the university administration the cooperation programs between the IFNTUOG and NORD University were discussed. Project manager from IFNTUOG, Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, social and economic development Oleh Dzoba, noted that cooperation between the universities was established in 2014 and its main directions were laid out in six articles of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the leaders of the Ukrainian universities and university NORD within the established Norwegian-Ukrainian University alliance: "Today we can state with satisfaction that the cooperation between IFNTUOG and the NORD university has been developing successfully. The total number of military personnel retrained according to the project comes up to 115 people."

During the visit, the guests from Norway got acquainted with the achievements of scientific and academic staff of the IFNTUOG, visited University Geological Museum, famous for the unique mineralogical collection – one of the best in Europe, as well as drilling simulation center.
