Representatives of oil and gas companies from Ukraine and Poland visited IFNTUOG

On April 7-8, 2016 Institute of Petroleum Engineering of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas - the only university in Ukraine of oil and gas profile, hosted an international seminar of Polish and Ukrainian oil and gas companies "Mutual cooperation - the path to energy independence." The event held in the framework of international cooperation of IFNTUOG, aimed at supporting the Transparency Initiative of Extractive Industries in Ukraine. It attracted representatives of leading oil and gas companies from Poland and Ukraine, including: PJSC "Firm" "Naftohazbud" (Lviv), specialized rescue (gas rescue) service "LIKVO" of PJSC "Ukrhasvydobyvannia" (Kharkiv), PJSC "Naftohazvydobuvannia" (Kyiv), LLC "Heosyntez inzhenirinh" (Poltava), LLC "Zakhidnadraservis" (Lviv), LLC "UkrSKS" (Kyiv),  LLC "Karpatyhaz" (Kyiv) and "Geophysics Krakow JSC" (Kraków), "Hazoproekt AT" (Wrocław), «PGNiG technology SA" ( Krosno), “Exalo Drilling”, PGNiG SA RSGO (Krakow).

At the opening of the workshop organizers, including Director of Petroleum Engineering Institute O. Vytiaz, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of seeking energy independence and the development of new technologies as well as training specialists for these technologies. IFNTUOG Rector, NAS of Ukraine Yevstakhii Kryzhanivskyi mentioned common problems of the energy dependence of Ukraine and Poland on Russian gas, and considered this seminar "a bridge to a positive resolution of certain issues." Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work Oleh Mandryk presented the University and its potential in solving the problems of energy dependence, willingness to cooperate on research and educational field on mutually beneficial terms.

In order to unite experience in the use of advanced technology and equipment, oil and gas companies from Poland and Ukraine presented their benefits and expressed interest and willingness to cooperate in the field of energy diversification and increased domestic production of oil and gas. The seminar ended by signing a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation between IFNTUOG represented by the Rector Ye. Kryzhanivskyi and the Polish party which was presented by the chief of a rescue station of the mining industry in Krakow Ireneusz Valchak.
