Professors from Poland lectured for IFNTUOG students

On December 4 2017, the Polish professors Dr. Ewa Kmiecik, professor of the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology of the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection and Dr. Pawel Kosakowski, a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Analysis, Geological Mapping and Economic Geology and curator of our students at AGH arrived at the Ivan-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The guests came with a series of educational lectures in the framework of the cooperation agreement between IFNTUNG and the University of Science and Technology (Polish Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica) (AGH).

This is not the first educational visit from Poland, since the Cooperation Agreement envisages multidisciplinary activities and education, in particular. This time, students of the Institute of Environmental Engineering majoring in «Ecology and Environmental Protection», and students of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics were able to listen to the professional lectures. Presenters also talked about the features of studying under the dual diploma program.

During the visit, Polish colleagues had a meeting with the university administration, and also visited a new laboratory of physical and chemical research in ecology, which was highly appreciated by Polish specialists. It was agreed to conduct joint comparative studies to harmonize measurement methods.

During the meeting with the University administration the distinguished guests were honored with high university awards - the medals of the 50th anniversary of IFNTUNG - for the development of longstanding and fruitful cooperation between our universities.
