IFNTUOG students got acquainted with the activities of the special monitoring mission of the OSCE to Ukraine

On March 9, 2017 a meeting of students and University staff with representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the special OSCE monitoring mission to Ukraine was held in the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. They introduced the activities of the mission, which deals with the collection and analysis of information on security. Guided by the main aim – the organization of security and cooperation in Europe, OSCE communicates with representatives of civil society, ethnic and religious groups, local communities and local authorities. The meeting turned out to be very interesting for the University students. They found out that the special monitoring mission arrived in Ukraine, once peace and stability were under threat. The headquarters of the mission is in Kiev, but observers are also in other cities of Ukraine and in particular in Ivano-Frankivsk. Observers report to the OSCE and to the participating countries; their information is available to the public and the media on the official website of the organization.

The students of IFNTUOG had the opportunity to ask questions to representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the special OSCE monitoring mission to Ukraine.
