Project "Ukraine - Norway": a free course for military personnel

On September 11, 2018 a solemn opening of the training program "Professional retraining of retired military personnel of the armed forces and other security agencies, their family members and employment assistance" in the framework of the project "Ukraine – Norway" took place in the Science city "New energy" of the Ivano-Frankivsk national technical University of oil and gas. This project, funded by the Kingdom of Norway, has been taking place in IFNTUOG for several years in different specialties with the assistance of the International Foundation for social adaptation (IFSA) and with the advanced research and educational capabilities of the University. Project "Ukraine-Norway" the implementation of which started in 2014 aims at retraining of military personnel, retired members, and their families as well as social adaptation of this layer of population and their integration into the regional economy. This training contributes to the problem of unemployment solving, reduces social tension in the region, and helps to start business.

Project Manager, Prof. M. Karpash noted: "We can talk about a number of advantages of participation in the retraining program. The program is free of charge, the students have an opportunity to work with qualified staff, analyze and work on real business cases, consult successful entrepreneurs and business representatives, take part in excursions and practices at the city enterprises, get socio-psychological rehabilitation, etc. In general, the course of entrepreneurship is effective, since during the study there a mutual exchange of experience takes place. Our teachers have a sincere desire to convey to the students all the luggage of knowledge on subject matter demanded by the labor market and aimed at promoting their employment in civilian life. "

This time, the program "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development", aimed at preparing successful entrepreneurs for sustainable economic development, will be offered to the students of the autumn semester. During vocational retraining, the focus will be on a separate project. Each of the 30 participants will work on an individual project. During training experienced practitioners, psychologists, representatives of the employment center, will work with the students delivering interesting lectures and conducting practical seminars.

Yurii Hazdyk, a participant of this year's retraining program "Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development", says: "I have high hopes for this course, because I have a great desire to start and develop my business here in Ukraine, thus contributing to economic development of the country."

It should be noted that in today's conditions, the program is extremely relevant since it helps the retired military personnel find themselves in civilian life. Graduates of previous courses always share their positive impressions about the project and results of the implementation of the program, note the relevance of the acquired knowledge, high professionalism of the teaching staff, which helps the students not only adapt to a peaceful life, but also become successful. Now we can talk about many successful startups of former students of previous programs that started their own business, implemented their own projects or received a grant. Owing to this, the retraining program is gaining popularity among the public.
