Opportunities for cross-border cooperation were discussed at IFNTUOG

On January 16, 2018 rector of IFNTUOG, prof. Ye. Kryzhanivskyi, vice-rectors, directors of institutes and heads of departments discussed issues of cross-border cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres. Head of International Relations Department, A. Voronych presented the opportunity for the participants to support educational, scientific and technological development and innovation within the framework of the Romania-Ukraine Operational Program 2014-2020 of the EU's cross-border cooperation, which extends to the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The program aims to foster cooperation at the local, regional and central levels. The priorities of the program: institutional cooperation in education to increase access to education and the quality of education, and promote and support research and innovation. Cross-border partnership projects make it possible to attract money for the development of education and science from 50 to 300 thousand euros for the purchase of quality equipment, the possibility of working out new research methods, professional practical skills. It is also an invaluable experience of solving similar problems or helping each other in their solution.

When discussing the possibilities of participation of IFNTUOG in various international projects, the rector of the university, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yevstakhii Kryzhanivskyi urged scientists to become more involved in this work. He stressed that each program contains elements related to energy and resource conservation, which the university has been successfully working on for several years in a row. The rector has also made several proposals for mutually beneficial participation in the programs: the university has material assets and opportunities to attract partners at different levels. As practice has shown, partnership with local authorities - Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration attracted 7 million hryvnias for the repair of the university stadium, which is only the first stage. In the near future, the stadium will become a platform for high-level training and competitions.

The proposals on the participation of IFNTUOG in the Operational Program "Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020" in the sphere of environmental security and protection were also discussed.
