International students of IFNTUOG are invited to participate in the project "Intercultural Police Laboratory"

Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas conducts extensive international educational and scientific activities. More than 500 students from 42 countries of Europe, Asia and Africa are currently enrolled at the university. IFNTUNG focuses on the comprehensive development of international students. For them, the University has created all the necessary conditions for effective learning, creative growth and leisure. Foreigners are guaranteed all rights and freedoms in accordance with the University Statute and current legislation of Ukraine.

However, the adaptation of foreign students to Ukrainian realities is a rather complicated process that involves many aspects, namely: adapting to the new socio-cultural environment, the language of communication, the educational system, the international nature of the groups. This process requires appropriate actions and assistance not only from the educational institution, but also from other public institutions.

On March 28, a presentation of the project “Intercultural Police Laboratory”, implemented by El & Ol for international students in UA and NGO "Ukraine needs You" in partnership with the Patrol Police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, was held. The organizations implementing the project are engaged in developing intercultural dialogue, supporting international students, protecting and realizing human rights and freedoms, and the European integration issues.

The project envisages a 1.5-month course of training under a special program developed by community activists in conjunction with representatives of the patrol police to raise awareness of students about their rights and responsibilities, and strengthen the cooperation of the Patrol Police with the public.

Within the project, participants will have a number of interesting training sessions with the police:

› Disclosure of "secrets" regarding their rights and responsibilities,

> Familiarity with the structure of the National Police of Ukraine and the work of existing units,

> Joint patrol of the city,

> Other interesting and informative events.

Iryna Lytvyn, Deputy Head of the Center for International Education, is a coordinator of the work with international students from IFNTUOG.

The project was presented by police officers Anton Boiev and Khrystyna Maksymchak.
