IFNTUOG receives SPE representatives from Germany

Representatives of the international SPE organization from Germany visited the Ivano-Frankivsk National University of Oil and Gas within the framework of the dissemination and exchange of technical knowledge for improving the professional competence of specialists in the oil and gas sector. Eight students from the German technical schools - Clausthal University of Technology, TU Bergakademie Freiberg - University of Resources and the RWTH Aachen University invited by the Student Branch of the SPE in IFNTUOG, got acquainted with modern research laboratories at the University of Oil and Gas.

Assistant director of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering Professor V. Bohoslavets gave a tour around Laboratories of cement slurries and drilling fluids of the Department of oil and gas wells drilling. He showed the latest equipment that makes studies for university students easier as they learn how to conduct research, take measurements, and create optimal drilling conditions. In addition, future engineers get are taught to work with old equipment to be ready to work in all conditions. German guests noted that their laboratories look almost the same, and that Ukrainian students are probably very comfortable here.

An excursion to the Geological Museum of the IFNTUOG also turned out to be very informative for our German guests.

For reference. The SPE Student Chapter, which has been operating at the Institute of Petroleum Engineering since 2010, for its high performance, the participation of SPE members in international conferences and congresses, conducting the International Oil and Gas Congresses of SPE in IFNTUOG received the highest award from the international professional organization SPE - Outstanding Student Chapter of 2017. This is the second highest award. In 2014, the SPE Student Chapter was awarded the Gold Standard Chapters Award.
