IFNTUOG hosts Canadian delegation

On December 14, 2015 Canadian delegation visited IFNTUOG. Their visit aimed at launching bilateral cooperation in the sphere of power engineering.  

In 2014 the Canadian government increased the budget for support of the development of democracy and sustainable development of Ukraine from 20 million to 50 million Canadian dollars. During the official visit to the Ivano-Frankivsk region the delegation of the Government of Canada including senior analyst of the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine Mr. Jen Jean, a senior analyst on bilateral cooperation Mr. Vlad Ionesco (Ottawa), head of the Canadian project «EDGE» («Expert support of governance and economic development ") Mr. Guy Innes and the expert of the «EDGE» project Mr. Ruslan Kundryk, visited the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, as a center of petroleum science of Ukraine.

At the meeting with the university administration and academic community the delegates had the opportunity to discuss the problems and prospects of further cooperation vectors between the two parties. During the meeting, Director of Oil and Gas Research Institute of Energy and Environment, prof. Maksym Karpash presented to the representatives of the Canadian government scientific activities of the University and experience in cooperation with foreign partners. University Professors Oleksandr Kondrat, Perto Raiter and Andrii Oliinyk made presentations on research within specialized disciplines and expressed interest in participation of the university scientists in joint international projects (the reports were made in English).

In the course of visit, the delegation of the Government of Canada visited the Geological Museum of IFNTUOG which belongs to the national heritage of Ukraine, modern technical laboratories, Innovation Exhibition Center of the university,  hardware and software lab «SIEMENS», drilling simulation center for the international certification of drillers.
