Since 1993 the Department of Ecological Engineering has been training students for Bachelor’s degree according to the program of study 6.040106 “Ecology, environmental conservation, and balanced nature management” and for the majors 7.04010601, 8.04010601 «Ecology, and environmental conservation».
The department currently comprises 14 academic staff including 3 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 7 PhDs, and Associate Professors. Our mission is to provide outstanding education and research training at the undergraduate, and graduate levels while advancing our research programs. We offer excellent research facilities housed in attractive laboratories. We are committed to producing world-class scientists, educators and professionals through undergraduate and graduate education. The Department of Geological Engineering is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Our graduates determine current ecological situation at the enterprises of various industries in different cities, districts, regions of our country by analyzing all natural components (geological environment, mineral and raw materials sources, geophysical fields and their influence on environment and population health, relief and its irregularities caused by unfavorable geodynamic processes, soil cover and land resources, underground, soil, and surface water, atmospheric air and climatic resources, flora and fauna) and anthropogenic load on them; determine the causal relationship between the dissemination of main diseases and ecological conditions and so on.
The students from Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Turkmenistan, Gabon, and Congo study at the department.
Annually our students undertake internship in the leading educational establishment of the world including those of Canada, USA, Germany, Spain and others. In 2011 IFNTUOG signed an agreement on cooperation with Stanislaw Staszic University of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow (Poland) where the students including ecological engineers, can get Master’s degree.
