An unprecedented breakthrough in cooperation between AGH University of Science and Technology (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica) and IFNTUOG

A new agreement on cooperation between the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and the AGH University of Science and Technology (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica) has been signed, among priorities of which there are  joint Polish-Ukrainian scientific and innovation activities and free dual master's degree program. However, the vectors of cooperation are much wider.

The new Polish Law on Higher Education, which set out a number of additional conditions for international students, became the basis for the replacement of the first Agreement signed in 1994 and extended in 2010. All Ukrainian Higher education Institutions that have close links with Polish educational institutions have to amend the various agreements and programs of cooperation. Therefore, in order to ensure an uninterrupted participation of the students of IFNTUOG in the dual diploma program, which envisages the completion of master's degree of both IFNTUOG and AGH, a delegation of the University, consisting of the First Vice-Rector Oleh Mandryk, Directors of the Institutes Valerii Omelchenko, Liubomyr Romanyshyn, Myroslav Mazur visited AGH. During the two-day visit, effective negotiations were held which resulted in the signing of new Agreements. One of the provisions includes the free of charge studies of our students at AGH. For undergraduate students of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering and the Institute of Natural Sciences and Tourism, agreements that will take effect from September 1, 2020, have been signed for an unlimited period.

The high efficiency of the negotiations, the signing of the new Agreement in a short time with unprecedented benefits for our students – is undoubtedly a breakthrough in cooperation between AGH University of Science and Technology (Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica) and IFNTUOG.
