ERASMUS +: Adopting the best European experience

The Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas began 2020 with a fruitful international activity. Thus, recently the Associate Professor of the Department of Energy management and Technical diagnostics Vitalii Tsykh participated in the mobility program for teachers within the framework of Erasmus +. This practice is important for universities because it can be seen as one of the factors behind the internationalization of higher education.

This time Associate Professor Vitalii Tsykh took over the Belgian experience at the Faculty of Engineering Technology of the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Gent. During the visit, working meetings were held to discuss the main features of IFNTUOG's participation in student exchange programs and internship programs. The focus was also on the cooperation of universities in the field of pedagogical and scientific activities. In particular, there were meetings with the chairman of the international office, Geert De Lepeleer, coordinator of international cooperation Philip Keerseblick, and professors Emilia Motoasca and Jan Cappelle, who were scientific advisors of Ukrainian Master students, who have been trained under the Erasmus + program at Belgian University. Also, within the framework of his stay at the university, Mr. Tsykh had an opportunity to get acquainted with the general structure of departments, logistical and laboratory bases in the sphere of energy engineering and the general work of the Catholic University of Leuven in the field of energy management and energy efficiency.

The internship resulted in a number of arrangements for future collaboration and partnerships in research projects, as well as the visit of a representative of the Catholic University of Leuven to IFNTUOG.
